KARACHI: A case has been registered against a local leader of Pakistan Muslim League - Quaid (PML-Q), Naeem Adil Shaikh, and over three dozen other people on Wednesday at the Shah Latif police station. An FIR No. 387/14 under sections 147, 148, 149 and 341 was registered against them. PML-Q leaders claimed that Naeem Adil Shaikh is the president of PML-Q District Malir, and a brother of Haleem Adil Shaikh. They claimed that the case was registered against the party leaders and workers for staging a protest in favour of Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Dr Tahirul Qadri at Murghi Khana stop on Tuesday. On the other hand, Shah Latif SHO Arshad Awan confirmed the registration of the case. However, he clarified that the police only named Naeem Adil Shaikh and other unidentified persons but did not mention their political affiliation in the FIR. He said that no arrest has been made as yet.
