Deadly shootout: Robber shot dead in encounter

Police said the shootout occurred after the robber and two of his accomplices, snatched a motorbike.

A robbery suspect was killed on Saturday night in a shootout with police.


Police said the shootout occurred after the robber and two of his accomplices, snatched a motorbike.

Muhammad Danish was riding his motorcycle along with his two friends. They were stopped by three gunmen at the bridge near Chak 165-P. The robbers snatched their bike and fled away. Danish and his friends alerted a police party in the vicinity at the time.

The police patrol spotted them and started shooting at them. The robbers also returned fire. One of the robbers was hit with a bullet and fell from the bike. He was later identified as Manzoor Hussain. Police said he was wanted in several robbery cases. His accomplices escaped.
