PML-N MPA's kidnappers hail from Mardan's Eisa group

The PML-N MPA was kidnapped on gunpoint on June 30 after attending a funeral in Sargodha.

LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)'s MPA Rana Jamil Hassan Khan's kidnappers belong to the Eisa Khan group of Mardan, Express News reported on Monday. 

The PML-N MPA was kidnapped on gunpoint on June 30 after attending a funeral in Sargodha.

A police team in Mardan, upon investigation, have found out that the Eisa group is responsible for the kidnapping. Further, 14 suspects are also under investigation.

The leader of the group who is from Shergarh in Mardan has escaped, according to police officials. The police also revealed that the kidnappers did not have ulterior motives to kidnap the MPA other than monetary reasons.

Police have also said that the MPA's family have received phone calls from the kidnappers and the number appears to be from an Afghan SIM. Police are investigating whether Khan has been transported to Afghanistan.

Untill the millions of undocumented Afghans in Pakistan, and the 1.7m refugees are addresses, and as a matter of urgency, Pakistan will continue to be destabilised.
