RAWALPINDI:

As part of an anti-car theft move, the Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) arm of the Punjab Police have set up 67 “Remote Search Parks and riverine posts” across the province, while the respective DPOs will administer the posts.

The special posts will be on the lookout for stolen vehicles, proclaimed offenders and explosives.

PHP sources said on Saturday that apart from Lahore, the post have also been set up in Attock, Rawalpindi, Jehlum, Chakwal, Mianwali, Bhakkar, DG Khan, Sargodha, Hafizaabad, Sheikhupura and Faisalabad.

The PHP Headquarters Superintendent of Police Hashmat Kamal distributed smart phones among the personnel appointed at Remote Search Parks. A specially-made application with all required data has been installed in the phones. This data will also be regularly updated.
