Long-standing demand: Press club starts functioning in Tank

DI KHAN: Journalists of the tribal areas have welcomed the establishment of a press club in Tank. The Ladha Press Club was inaugurated on Friday and is located within the premises of the Communication and Works Department. On the occasion, the assistant political officer of South Waziristan said the government will take every step for the facilitation of tribal journalists and announced Rs40,000 for the club. He said the club, comprising three rooms and a mini kitchen, has been provided a computer, printer and fax machine, adding that other essential facilities will be provided soon. Ladha Press Club President Shakir Mehsud said they hope the club will make the journalists’ job easy, adding that they have achieved this after a long and hard struggle.
