FAISALABAD:

DCO Noorul Amin Mengal has directed police to launch a crackdown against quacks and those selling spurious drugs in the district.

The DCO was presiding over a meeting with the district quality control board to review the performance of drug inspectors. Mengal said that quacks were endangering people’s lives and should not be spared. He said drug inspectors should perform their official duties in a responsible manner.  He said that the crackdown against illegal clinics, hospitals and medical stores should bring forth results within the next two days. Criminals should be brought to book without delay, he said. The DCO also directed drug inspectors to submit daily reports on the crackdown. He said Health Department officials must carry out inspections regularly.
