PESHAWAR: With the extended ceasefire between the government and Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) ending on Thursday, Professor Muhammad Ibrahim of the Taliban's negotiating committee, said on Saturday there was no deadlock in fragile peace process, Radio Pakistan reported.

Talking to media in Peshawar, Prof Ibrahim said efforts were underway to remove hurdles in the peace process.

To a question, Prof Ibrahim said the venue for direct talks with Taliban would be decided soon.

Prof. Ibrahim hoped that the nation will hear good news soon about success of the talks.

On Thursday, Prof Ibrahim had admitted that “infighting within the TTP and the recent statements by the army and civilian government were among the factors behind the delay.”

In addition to that, confidence between the Taliban and the government ‘has not been fully restored.’

“Both sides are making efforts to address the difficulties and we are hopeful for success, but the lack of confidence is one of the delaying factors,” he said. He did not explain the factors hindering the confidence-building process.

Who cares.people want to get rid of taliban, whether it maybe through force or peace talks. Either way, ttp reality and future is bleak. They have to decide which method they prefer.
