The Sindh government has announced that it will soon introduce double-decker buses on Karachi roads, with the buses already having arrived at the Karachi Port.
Sindh Minister for Transport Sharjeel Inam Memon said on X: “Double-decker buses for Karachi have reached the port. Inshallah, these buses will soon be on the roads for the people of Karachi through the Transport Department, Government of Sindh.”

Karachi, a city of around 25 million people, has long been grappling with severe traffic congestion and public transport challenges amid dilapidated roads, a lack of civic sense, weak traffic management, and an inadequate public transport network.
Although the Sindh government has launched several transport initiatives in recent years — including the Green Line, Red Line, and Pink Bus Service, among others — the city’s transport crisis remains unresolved.
In addition, transport development projects that have remained under construction for years have further added to the difficulties faced by commuters, particularly those relying on private transport, worsening congestion and travel times across the city.
