LAHORE:

The venue for Pakistan Day fireworks has been shifted to Racecourse Park due to construction activity on Ravi Road and its surroundings areas.

The programme, a part of Jashn-i-Baharan festivities, was originally planned to be held at Kamran’a Baradari at midnight on March 23.

However, Ravi Road, Data Darbar Road, Circular Road and Ahmad Ali Road are all closed due for construction.

The Parks and Horticulture Authority has now changed the venue to Racecourse Park. PHA Coordination Director Sohail Bhatti said multi-coloured fireballs would kick off the March 23 celebrations. He said the fireworks would continue for 20 minutes. He said Rs2.5 million had been spent on the fireworks. He said stalls having books, cloths, handicraft, edible items and various other attractions had been set up at Racecourse Park.  The district administration have also planned parades on The Mall, Canal Road and Main Boulevard.
