SIALKOT: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Central Leader & MNA Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that there was no scheduled meeting of PML-N Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif with Pir Pagara regarding the unification of all the factions of Pakistan Muslim League (PML).

Talking to newsmen here Monday Khawaja Asif said that PML-N has also not yet done any mutual consultation for this meeting. He said that the Sharifs have never ignored their sincere workers due to which the PML-N has very deep roots in the masses.

Contrary to these statements of some party members ruling out any alliance with smaller factions of the Muslim League, sources close to Nawaz Sharif told The Express Tribune that he has not rejected the idea outright but wants to go slow and finalise things just before the next elections.

Asif said that the incumbent government of the PPP was responsible for all the internal and external dangers and crisis being faced by the country.

He said that the PML-N has sacrificed a lot for the freedom of the supreme judiciary in the country, adding that the rulers were now trying to make the country's judiciary their slave.

Nazir Habib | 13 years ago | Reply Khawaja Asif says they wont meet??? Hhhaaaaahhh!!! Nawaz Sharif and Pir Pagara will meet in the shadows of trees on a moonlit night and serenade each other. For the unity of the APML and saner politics in the country, they should talk of unity, giving concessions and share goodwill. If the Pir can go to Lahore, then Nawaz can come to Kingri House in Karachi. All said and done it is a smart move by the Pir to try and bring about unity. With salams and best wishes.
