Khurram Dastgir Khan of PML-N who was working as state minister has also taken oath as federal minister. With the induction of JUI-F and Fata, the PML-N led ruling coalition now comprises PML-Functional, JUI-F and Fata.

Later, Afridi told The Express Tribune that the media had been misreporting that he had joined the cabinet as JUI-F member. He said he is parliamentary leader of independent group of Fata members.
