Falling temperatures: Demand for heaters, geysers increases

Shopkeepers say that the change of weather has compelled people to purchase these products.

With falling temperatures, demand for heaters, geysers and other such appliances has increased in the twin cities.


Shopkeepers said that the change of weather has compelled people to purchase these products.


Hassan Ali, a shopkeeper in Aabpara Market, said that the sale of heaters and geysers was at an all-time high.  Heaters of different variety are available at a price ranging from Rs6,000 to Rs8,000 in the market.


Similarly, prices of average geysers start from Rs9,000 to Rs 16,000 while those of a higher quality are available at 30,000 in the market. The prices are 10 to 20 per cent higher than last year.

demand for electricity too increased but it is not available in the market freely.
