MQM, which has long been lamenting 'unfair arrests' made during the operation, had always wanted that a civilian committee that would oversee the security forces during the operation.
"MQM desires that the operation be made successful at all costs," insisted Sattar, adding that they had called for "a monitoring committee so that anyone who may have objections to any arrest may have a platform for raising them."
The MQM stalwart welcomed Nawaz's assurance in this regard, and said that this measure could help eliminate some of the loopholes and discrepancies that the ongoing operation was suffering from.
"The monitoring committee will hopefully consist of representatives whose reputation for being impartial and just is well-known."
Sattar said it was imperative to purge Karachi from all terrorists and criminals, no matter what the cost.
