Maximum assistance: Nawaz establishes relief fund

This fund will be used for relief and rehabilitation of those affected in the recent earthquake in Balochistan.

ISLAMABAD/ BALOCHISTAN:


The government established the Balochistan Earthquake Relief Fund in the wake of special instructions from Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in New York.


“This fund will be used for relief and rehabilitation of those affected in the recent earthquake in Balochistan,” said the premier in his message. According to an official statement, the Balochistan government has also established the Chief Minister’s Fund for assistance and rehabilitation of quake-hit people of the province.

Donor organisations and individuals can send their donations for this fund by submitting the same in the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) Civil Secretariat branch account number 3261-3 from any NBP branch in the country.

Balochistan CM Abdul Malik Baloch, Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar visited the quake-hit areas to review the pace of rescue and relief operation.

Shahbaz  said the federal and Punjab governments would not leave the people of Balochistan alone at this critical phase.

“The entire nation stands by the earthquake victims and we will continue our support till the rehabilitation of the last victim,” the Punjab chief minister said.
