Reshuffle: New police chiefs for 14 Sindh districts

Similar postings of SP, DSP and SHO ranks also planned across the province.

The Sindh government has appointed new police chiefs for 14 districts of the province, including five districts of Karachi.


The appointment of the 14 Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) on Friday was part of a reshuffle in the police department, The Express Tribune has learnt.

A notification for appointment of the SSPs was issued late Friday night. Officials said that the summary about the appointment of these SSPs was made by the Sindh IGP Shahid Nadeem Baloch and a notification was issued after Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah approved the summary sent to him by the Sindh Chief Secretary Chaudhry Aijaz.

Earlier on Wednesday, Karachi police chief and three zonal DIGs were among 18 top ranking officers transferred and posted in the first phase of the reshuffle.

The police department has also planned similar appointments of the SP, DSP and SHO ranks across the province. These include the five district police officers of the Karachi.

As per notification, Pir Mohammad Shah was appointed SSP district East Karachi, Irfan Ali Baloch as SSP district West, Nasir Aftab as SSP district Malir SSP, Munir Ahmed Shaikh as SSP district South and Faisal Bashir Memon as SSP district City.

In other districts of the province, Khalid Mustafa Korai was appointed as SSP Larkana, Ahmed Jamalur Rehman as SSP Sukkar, Pervez Chandio as SSP Shikarpur, Aitzaz Ahmed as SSP Khairpur, Tariq Razzak Dharejo as SSP Dadu, Younus Chandio as SSP Kashmore, Jam Zafarullah Dharejo as SSP Mirpurkhas, Nisar Ahmed Channa as SSP Tando Allah Yar and Abdul Qayyum Patafi as SSP Umerkot.
