Dalmia Road blocked against power outage
.

Residents of Shanti Nagar in the Aziz Bhatti police limits staged a protest demonstration on Dalmia Road on Thursday against prolonged power outages, blocking both tracks and causing severe traffic disruption.
A large number of women and children participated in the protest, during which demonstrators chanted slogans and demanded immediate restoration of electricity.
According to residents, the area has been without power for the past three days, severely affecting routine life and forcing them to take to the streets.
The blockade led to massive traffic congestion, with long queues of vehicles forming on both sides of the road.
A huge police contingent reached the spot after being informed of the protest and held negotiations with the demonstrators. After prolonged talks, the protesters dispersed peacefully, allowing authorities to restore traffic flow on Dalmia Road.
SHO of Aziz Bhatti police station said that only 25 per cent of residents in the area pay electricity bills, while the rest are defaulters.
