The Punjab government has regularised all contract employees in BPS (Basic Pay Scale) 16 and above in all government departments, The Express Tribune has learnt.
Employees in BPS-1 to 15 had been regularised on Monday, an official said. According to a notification issued by the regulation wing of the Services and General Administration Department, the chief minister has allowed departments to regularise all employees recruited under the contract appointment policy of 2004 in BPS-16 and above. Employees whose cases are sub-judice in the Lahore High Court are not to be regularised.
The S&GAD has sent the notification to secretaries, heads of attached departments, autonomous bodies, the IGP, commissioners and DCOs for immediate implementation.
