Controversy ends: President accepts Shujaat Azim’s resignation

ISLAMABAD:


President Asif Ali Zardari on the advice of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has accepted the resignation of Captain (retd) Shujaat Azim from the office of the adviser to prime minister on aviation.


Azeem tendered his resignation after he failed to justify his appointment before the Supreme Court amid a controversy surrounding his background.

If he was so anxious to serve the country, he could simply have withdrawn his Canadian citizenship.
