KARACHI:
A district and sessions court sentenced on Thursday a man to life imprisonment in a murder case.
Muhammad Yamin, the district Malir judge, found Irshad Ahmed guilty of killing his colleague Nazeer Ahmed. Two of his accomplices, Qaim Ali and Muhammad Zahid, however, were acquitted after the prosecution failed to prove the charges against them.
The judge also ordered Ahmed to pay a fine of Rs100,000 to the legal heirs of the victim. In case of his failure to pay, the convict would have to serve additional six months. According to the pronouncement of the verdict, all prosecution witnesses deposed against the accused.
The prosecution told the court that the accused and his two accomplices attacked the victim with iron rods after an exchange of hot words in January 2012. All three worked as labourers in Agha Industry. A case, No. 29/2012, under sections 302, 324 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code was registered against them at the Bin Qasim police station.

Justice served only for poor people with no team of lawyers or protocol offices? Good job "independent judiciary". What about Shahrukh Jatoi case which ET has forgotten? Media, please do not leave the job half-done.
