In the press statement made on Tuesday, HRCP strongly condemned the attacks and went on to add that the attacks have greater significance in light of the recent political changes in the country.
The senate made similar statements earlier during the week, along with a resolution that was passed strongly condemning the attack on Quaid-e-Azam’s residency in Ziarat.
Former Supreme Court Bar Association President Asma Jahangir will meet senior government officials and politicians in the southern province, said Zohra Yusuf, Chairperson HRCP.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had contacted Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik Baloch to assure him that the federal government supported the people and provincial government.
Lawyers across Sindh decided to boycott duties on June 18th to protest against the two attacks and Naeem Qureshi, Karachi Bar Association’s (KBA) president, said the attacks were against humanity and no religion permits anyone to commit such acts.

@Mirza: I do not think you Mr mirza has any credibility as you have been favoring the last govt acts - left, right & center...look in what mess the last govt has left this country, & now Ms Asma who is a controversial & a biased lady, supporting everything wrong issues has become a norm with you. .
Impressive lady!
Asma, a wrong choice. She is biased and can jeopardize national interest.
Two COs of Pak Army were martyred yesterday fighting against TTP militants, and Asma Jehangir still blames the Army and Judiciary for all evils in the country. HRCP is losing credibility by appointing her as the head of the fact finding mission.
I think do we have more caliber people for this job than Asma??
Kudos to HRCP and appointment of Asma. It is about time the truth should come out. Asma has a proven track record except some rightwing hate mongers.
@Sarmad Hassan: I think her press release is 100% correct.
I worry for her safety.I salute Asma Jehangir!
And what about karachi????
@salman: You are right and after her visit she will say that the mullahs of BLA were the main problem.
don't they have any better choice then controversial person like her?
FYI she is ahmedi
I here by release her report here already.
"Army is responsible for the brutal attacks, they attacked ziarat themselves then went on to attack the hospital and brought their own forces to fight with themselves.. its army.... army army army.... armed forces.... army army army... More over, army army army, general general, army"
I pitty people who still consider her a symbol of "human rights"... her idea of human rights is to criticize military, judiciary.. thats all she does. She better do what she do best, ensure that her client forgets his blackberry on his way to the country, any one remember anything ? cough... memo.. gate. cough !
Why she didnt bother to go to karachi on a fact finding mission about the thousands killed in the target killing in the last 5 years? Does she think voilence by political parties is okay?
Long story short .. now bharat would be presiding a high level inquiry into an incident it is responsible for in the first place.
And I know already where the blame is headed! Ironic!
This step is good, but why was not such a fact finding team constituted for the past last 5 yrs, especially the killings of Shias etc;...twice ? were not those killed humans ? & what about killings taking place daily in Peshawar & Karachi....? are they also not human beings too ?
I worry for her safety.
I salute Asma Jehangir! What a person & pray that if we have many more Asma's in Pakistan because they can surely change the destiny of PK. A true fighter!
I bet their condemnation was restricted to Taliban attacks in Quetta only not Ziarat and BLA.
