ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday adjourned hearing on a petition against Pervez Musharraf for his alleged role in the Lal Masjid operation, as the petitioner failed to pay the court fee.

Justice Noorul Haq N Qureshi entertained a plea filed by Haroon Rasheed, son of Ghazi Abdul Rashid, through his counsel Tariq Asad, against the murder of his father and grandmother during the Lal Masjid operation.

During the course of hearing, Justice Qureshi directed the petitioner’s counsel to deposit the court fee prior to taking up the case and adjourned the matter.

Earlier, the petitioner’s counsel said that Rashid and his mother Sahiba were killed during the operation on the order of the former president.

Why was the case heard without the petitioner having fulfilled all legal requirements. The petitioner should have been asked to register an FIR instead of wasting court's time. The rules of the game have apparently changed.
