GUJRANWALA:

Two schoolchildren were beaten up allegedly by their school principal on Thursday for not paying for the stationary on time. Fareed Town police have registered a case.

The parents of the 10th class students, Abdul Zahoor and Abdur Rehman, said that Principal Mustafa Butt beat up the two with a stick because they had forgotten to pay Rs50 each for the stationary they had purchased from the school.

On Thursday, they said, the boys returned before school was over and were badly injured.

They said the boys had bruises all over their body. They said the principal had told them not to return to school until the money was paid. The principal said he had not beaten the students. He said they were disrupting the classes and were slapped for indiscipline.
