New Charge: Demolition of dilapidated buildings ordered

The tehsil municipal administrations was directed to survey their areas for buildings that needed to be demolished.

District Coordination Officer (DCO) Syed Gulzar Hussain Shah has directed the officers concerned to demolish all dilapidated buildings before the monsoon season began.


He was presiding over a meeting of the District Emergency Board at his office on Monday.

The DCO also directed the tehsil municipal administrations to survey their areas for buildings that needed to be demolished. He also directed the Multan Electric Power Company (Mepco) officials to make arrangements to avoid incidents of short circuit.

He said that acid shops would be shifted and strict action should be taken against fireworks sellers. He also ordered action against petrol sale without licence.

The DCO said that all corners and U-turns on roads, where accidents were frequent, should be redesigned. He said funds for this purpose would be provided soon. He also announced a grand operation against encroachment outside the Nishtar Hospital.
