LAHORE:

Churches across the city observed Good Friday with special prayer services.

Christians observed the Lent fast and attended congregational services at Cathedral Church, Saint Anthony’s Church, Naulakha Church and Don Basco Church, among others.

Pastor Shahid Miraj of Cathedral Church said, “Good Friday marks the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.

Christians believe that Jesus died on Good Friday and was resurrected on Easter Sunday. It is called Good Friday because Jesus sacrificed his life for humanity and peace.”

He said Easter also marks the end of Lent, the Christian period of fasting, which continues for 40 days. A popular activity at Easter is decorating Easter eggs.
