Extra curricular: Five-day Lyallpur Literature Festival ends

The first Lyallpur Literature Festival that began on Monday ended on Friday. It was organised by the University of Agriculture, Faisalabad.


Addressing a prize distribution ceremony on account of the festival, Vice Chancellor Iqrar Ahmad Khan said that the Lyallpur Festival had served as a platform for the youth to share their ideas. Students from 32 universities participated in the book reading, story telling, mushaira and quiz competitions.

Prof Aslam Pervez and Principal Officer (students’ affairs) Muhammad Younis also spoke.

Prof Pervez said that the festival had opened avenues for literary events in the city that was more famous for its textile. Dr Younis thanked the visitors, the management and the university staff for making the festival a success. He hoped the festival would also be organised in the following years.
