CID arrests 2 target killers in Karachi

KARACHI: The Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Tuesday arrested two alleged target killers from Karachi’s Phelwan Goth area, Express News reported.

The arrests were made during the ongoing targeted operation in the city.

According to SSP Fayyaz Khan, the suspects were wanted in multiple murder cases.

The suspects – identified as Zakir Khan and Sameer Khan – resisted when security officers tried to arrest them and fired at the police.

Earlier in the month, residents of Landhi captured two alleged target killers who had reportedly come to abduct and kill a local prayer leader.

Arrests in Landhi

Rangers officials said they have arrested 31 suspects and recovered arms from them in a targeted operation in Landhi.

A Rangers spokesperson said around 81 weapons of different categories were recovered.

All exit and entry points of the area were closed when officers conducted a search operation in the area.

I would really like to know if there is any law against public identification of suspects? After all the suspects in Rental Power and Haj Scam are daily flashed in newspapers and TV channels as was Shazaib. Cover up of witnesses is understood but why serious criminals and suspected killers have always hidden behind masks?
