Water and Power Secretary calls press conference to quash variety of rumours.

ISLAMABAD:

Power supply is being restored in phases and it might take a few more hours, said Water and Power Secretary Rai Sikander while speaking at a hurriedly called press conference in the early hours of Monday.

Secretary Sikander said he called the press conference only to quash a variety of rumours and urged the nation not to pay heed to them.

He said the national power distribution system did not face any damage, however, an investigation would be conducted and those found responsible would be dealt with in accordance with the law.

The secretary said he had constituted an investigation team on the direction of Prime Minister Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.
