LAHORE:

The Young Doctors Association (YDA) Punjab leaders were determined on Saturday to meet Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif at the inauguration of the Metro Bus Service.

YDA delegations from Faisalabad, Gujrat and Gujranwala have reached Lahore to join the hunger strike that entered the sixth day on Saturday.

“So far we haven’t received a government delegation mandated to negotiate with us. Our plan to meet the CM at the inaugural ceremony is intact. The government is welcome to send a delegation for talks, but we will not give up our plan to go to the inaugural ceremony until our demands have been met,” YDA Punjab Media Secretary Khurrum Shehzad told The Express Tribune.

Till the filing of this report, talks had not started between the YDA and any representation from the Punjab government. A Health Department official, however, said Special Assistant to Chief Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique was holding a meeting with department officials in this regard. He said a delegation consisting of senior professors and Director General (Health) Nisar Cheema could be sent to talk to YDA leaders later in the night to resolve the issue amicably.

Meanwhile, the Health Department sacked 68 doctors on Saturday for absentee from duty.

Doctors need to bring forward Muna Bhai and Younas Butt among themselves, who could stand up against Corrupt Politicians, FA Pass Generals, BA Pass Bureaucrats, and most importantly senior doctors. Senior have enjoyed all perks and privileges through their career while sailing easily.

However now they always collude with Corrupt Politicians, FA Pass Generals, BA Pass Bureaucrats.

In words of the Arundhati Roy, Doctor's strategy should be not only to confront these corrupt and evil ruling elite and their system, but to lay siege with patients. To deprive them of oxygen. To shame them. To mock them. With Doctor/Patient's art, Doctor/Patient's music, Doctor/Patient's literature, Doctor/Patient's stubbornness, Doctor/Patient's sorrows and joy, Doctor/Patient's brilliance, Doctor/Patient's sheer relentlessness – and Doctor/Patient's ability to tell their own stories. Stories that are different from the ones masses are being brainwashed to believe.

Their system will collapse if Doctor refuse to buy what these corrupt ruling elites are selling – their ideas, their version, their humanity, their weapons of media, their notion of inevitability.

Remember this: Doctors may be few but patients are many. These corrupt ruling elites need Doctors more than Doctor need them. Because if Doctors stop working, masses immediately comes on road. No other profession, no other group, no other class has such wonderful and amazing power.

Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, you can hear her breathing just like your patient.

CPSP, PMA, PMDC and all seniors doctors have made the career and life of junior doctors especially female miserable. They are treated worst than bus drivers and sanitary workers in hospitals.

It takes years of education and training to produce a medical graduate from a recognized institution, say, Khyber Medical College or King Edward Medical College.

India is fast become regional hub for medical tourism, a lot of Indian Doctors are returning back from Middle East and West. While in Pakistan 4,000 Pakistani doctors, even opted for Saudi Arabia last year; 3,000 more are on the verge of going. Saudia is worst place to work as foreigner and especially if you are from South Asia.

The seniors while sailed through their career, residency and training easily. However currently they will keep mum and exploit the junior doctors in all possible by colluding with corrupt Bureaucrats, Generals and Politicians ?

How many Babus (Bureaucrats), Army General and Politicians (with Fake Degrees) were able to secure positions in Middle East ?

They will not even employed as sweepers in Middle East.
