Top seeds Yasir Khan, Jalil Khan and Talha Zubair cruised into the men’s semi- finals in the singles event of the 11th Westbury Tennis Ranking Open yesterday at the DA Club. Yasir defeated Malik Hamza 6-3, 6-3, while Jalil outclassed Nawab Muzaffar 6-1, 6-1 and Zubair outplayed Sikander Hayat Khan 6-3, 6-0.
Meanwhile in the women’s category, Neha Khan beat Rida Khan 6-1, 6-0, whereas Saba Ahmed overcame Rubina Masoom 6-1, 6-3 to progress into the second-round.
Similarly, in the boy’s under-18 singles event, Zubair defeated Mirpur Khas player Jalaluddin Babar 6-1, 6-0 and Dewar Rehan outplayed Muhammad Raza Sawani 6-4, 6-2 to secure a place in the semi-finals.
