A high-level meeting of the provincial administration of Balochistan has decided to carry out targeted operations on terrorists and their hideouts to restore law and order in the province.
The high profile meeting, chaired by Balochistan Chief Secretary Babar Yaqoob Fateh Mohammad, reviewed the law and order situation, made plans to improve security in the province, and directed law enforcement agencies to prevent sectarian violence, kidnapping for ransom, and targeted killings in the province.
Inspector General (IG) police Tariq Umar Khatab, Home Secretary Akbar Hussain Durrani, DIG Frontier Corps (FC), CCPO Quetta, Commissioner Quetta, IG Prisoners, DCO Quetta, DIG Operations and other civil and security officials attended the meeting.
The meeting decided to maintain the writ of the government in the province to restore the faith of people in the government. Police and FC were directed to crack down culprits rather than resorting to defence tactics and to apprehend whoever was found guilty of any crime.
They were also directed to cooperate with each other and take strong actions in the A and B areas of the province without any hesitation.
Chief Secretary Fateh told the participants of the meeting that the assembly was dissolved and governor’s rule was imposed due to worsening law and order in the province.
It was also decided, during the meeting, to call back the security protocol provided to former ministers and deploy all forces to maintaining of law and order.
Furthermore, the meeting maintained that the exhibition of weapons will be prohibited in the provincial capital as Section 144 remained in place. Meanwhile, all offices of former provincial ministers were sealed and locked so that no one would remove files and documents after the government’s dismissal.
All government assets, including vehicles, will soon be recovered from the ministers and they will be asked to vacate their official residences.

Is this really the "Way Forward" ? Looks like a "Hit and Run" approach to me. It would be more productive and effective to bring the locals in the main stream, make them stake holders in Pakistan, invest in infrastructure, more scholorships for Balochistani students in Punjab/ Sindh/ KPK, inter-provincial job postings and opportunities. Balochistan needs a Proper Detailed 10 - 25 Year Plan.
Operation only against LeJ is not enough. Action must be taken against those as well who are involved in the terrorism like that happened in Bacha Khan Chowk Quetta.
hindus, please layoff and worry about Kashmir and Maoist threat. i wish you could come over and see for yourself the difference in the people mindset in baluchistan as against in Kashmir.@India:
are you really a baloch or a pakistani. simply devoid of any sense and rationale. @Mohammad Idrees:
I think reservation of baloch brothers is genuine but those people linked both with LEJ and nationalist must be ruthlessly eliminated because LEJ has already damaged, maligned and overshadowed nationalist cause.Terrorism has no place nationally and internationaly .Today if pakistan wanted to use brute force in Baloch areas there will be hardly any political voice nationally or internationally other then few small villages in Baloch areas.
@India: Before to cry about Baluchis stop state genocide of Mosits
state genocide of baluchis
Again the oppressed Baloch people will be targeted by the Operations keep clearing every roads for Pashtunkhwa. Pashtunkhwa is a plague that one day will completely get hold of Balochistan.
Need of Time.
A Swat type operation is required in few districts of Balochistan.
