PESHAWAR:

The Insaf Students Federation (ISF) held a motorcycle rally ahead of the ‘Tsunami Convention’ in Peshawar on Tuesday.

The rally started from the Peshawar University’s Pearl Lawn and proceeded towards the Peshawar Press Club, passing by University Road, Tehkal Road and Saddar Cantt. At the Shershah Suri Road, ISF Provincial President, Hussain Akhunzada addressed participants. Holding pictures of PTI Chairperson Imran Khan, the participants shouted slogans of their support for the political party.

The aim of the motorcycle rally was to publicise the annual gathering of PTI’s student’s wing, which will be held on December 20 in the provincial capital. The PTI chairman will also address the convention.

Later, Akhunzada held a press conference in which he claimed that the convention will be the biggest in the history of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P). More than 15,000 students are likely to participate from K-P and the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata), he said. Previously, however, Akhunzada had claimed that they were expecting 10,000 students to participate in the annual gathering. Replying to a question regarding security measures for the student gathering amid law and order problems in the provincial capital, Akhunzada said that civic body officials, police personnel and ISF members will be responsible for security.
