Balochistan unrest: Quetta blast kills one, injures 2

The bomb, weighing 3 to 4kg, was set off through a remote control device.

A man was killed and two others were injured in a bomb blast in the Kechi Baig area of Quetta on Monday evening.


“The remote-controlled bomb was planted near the hut of a blacksmith,” Muhammad Sharif, the SHO of Kechi Baig police station, told The Express Tribune. The casualties were driven to the Civil Hospital for treatment.

The dead was identified as Imdadullah while the injured as Maulana Rashid Ahmed Sherodi and Zainul Abidin. Sherodi is a prayer leader at a local mosque.

According to the Bomb Disposal Squad, the bomb, weighing three to four kilograms, was set off through a remote control device.  A case has been registered against unidentified persons and an investigation is under way.

On Saturday, four people were wounded a blast went off targeting a police van on Brewery Road.
