KARACHI:

The leader of the banned Peoples Amn Committee, Uzair Jan Baloch, and Noor Muhammad alias Baba Ladla were declared absconders by the judicial magistrate, Muhammad Afzal, in court on Wednesday.

In a case on supplying illegal ammunition in Lyari, the judge ordered the authorities to seize their properties immediately.

The prosecution claimed that the Crime Investigation Department had arrested three men, Saifullah Bugti, Shamsuddin Bugti and Abdul Ghaffar Bugti, and seized weapons from them in an encounter in Lyari on May 7. The police claim that the men confessed to delivering weapons to the accused.

The authorities nominated Baba Ladla and Uzar Baloch in an FIR based on the statements of the arrested men under section 4/5 of the Explosive Substance Act.

The case will now be heard on November 2.
