Sexual assault: Convict imprisoned for 25 years

Convict was arrested four years ago for abducting a child and sexually assaulting him.

FAISALABAD: A man was convicted in a sexual assault case and imprisoned for 25 years by Additional Session Judge Muhammad Arkam on Tuesday. Muhammad Sarwar, a resident of Thikriwala area, was arrested four years ago for abducting a child and sexually assaulting him. After recording witnesses, the judge on Tuesday sentenced the convict to rigorous Imprisonment for 15 years under Section 367 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and 10 years under Section 377 of the PPC. The convict was also directed to pay Rs30,000 and Rs20,000 in fines . Failure to pay would result in additional imprisonment for four months.
