Prisoners Released: Fishermen and civilian to return to India

KARACHI: The Sindh government released five Indian prisoners from Malir district jail on Thursday.

The prisoners, four fishermen and an Indian-Muslim civilian, were sent to Lahore where they will be handed over to Indian authorities at the Wagah border on Friday. The fishermen, identified as Maghan, Kana, Roral and FC, were jailed six months ago when they were caught fishing in Pakistani waters.

The fifth prisoner, Rafiuddin, was jailed over 10 years ago as he entered Pakistan through the land route and was arrested by Rangers. He was released by the interior ministry. All five men went to Lahore by bus at 9am, Thursday morning.
