Most of technology shifting to mobile apps

Game development session held for young professionals.

New technology of the current era is Windows phone and in future 95% of technology will shift to mobile applications, says Tasleem Mustafa, Chairman Department of Computer Sciences of University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF).


He was speaking at a Windows phone android game development training session, held under the Punjab Youth Festival 2012. The session was jointly organised by the Government of Punjab and Microsoft Corporation at UAF to train young professionals in developing mobile phone games.

The core objectives of the programme were to enlighten game developers about new technology on the basis of which they would compete in a game development competition expected to be held next month. Mustafa said the training session would enhance the vision of IT professionals in developing computer games.

He said Microsoft was arranging the programme on Windows game development free of charge in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board in order to facilitate participants of the game/app development competition.

Speaking on the occasion, Shahid Aziz of Microsoft apprised the participants of a young boy of Karachi who earned Rs60 million after developing a one dollar worth of video game and getting it registered on Microsoft website, which was downloaded by many people. He said training sessions for the game development competition had been organised at Arid Agri University Rawalpindi, University of Agriculture Faisalabad, Fatima Jinnah Women University Rawalpindi, Punjab University College of IT and University of Engineering and Technology Lahore.

I thought Windows and Android are two different platforms who have their own softwares/games.
