Balochistan: Strike, rallies mark missing persons’ day

The protesters appealed to the United Nations to play its due role for the recovery of Baloch missing persons.

A complete strike was observed in different parts of Balochistan and protest rallies were staged to mark the International Day of Missing Persons on Thursday.


Dozens of activists of Balochistan National Party (Mengal) carrying placards and banners staged a demonstration in front of Quetta Press Club to express solidarity with the kins of the missing persons.

The protesters appealed to the United Nations to play its due role for the recovery of Baloch missing persons.

Addressing the demonstration, BNP leader Aghan Hassan Baloch, Dr Faiz Hashmi of Human Rights Commission of Pakistan, and others strongly criticised the government over the issue of missing persons.

Meanwhile, on the call of Baloch Students Organisation (BSO-Azad) a shutter-down strike was observed in Makran division and rallies were held to mark the day.
