The bomb carried 12 kilograms of explosives as well as ball bearings and was made in an oil canister.
A Rangers official said that it is too early to comment on whether the bomb was intended to target the rangers or not. “We will wait till the investigation into the matter is completed,” he said.
The official also added that the bomb was made in a similar way as the one defused earlier at the Jinnah hospital on June 24. He said there is a possibility that both the bombs were made by the same group.

No wonder the Rangers at Jinnah Courts are so heavily fortressed and bunkered. My compliments to the bomb disposal squad.
The Rangers Head Quarters at Jinnah Courts (1933) have six layers of protection facing Ziauddin Ahmed Road. The main wall with barbed wire. Three layers of huge sand bags, after which metal crossbars and another layer of sand bags, making it six in all.
The question that comes to mind is why not have these layered protections within the compound of the Rangers? Why encroach on the road, disrupt traffic and inconvenience the common citizen who walks and drives by? In addition, they can have lookout towers or peep holes within the walls. Please somebody enlighten me.
Many thanx and Salams
Well done; Thwarted the attempts of anti state criminals to hurt innocent civilians.
