How does it feel to play next to someone who inspired you to pick up your first musical instrument?
A video released by TED shows how this became possible for 21-year-old Usman Riaz, who grew up learning to acquire the art of percussive guitar by watching videos on YouTube.
At the TedGlobal 2012 event, Riaz started off with a solo performance and left the crowd mesmerized, while his fingers made slithery movements on the frets.
After leaving the crowd enthralled, the floor was taken over by guitar prodigy Preston Reed, one of Riaz’s inspirations.
After the solo performances, the duo gave an impromptu performance.
After the performance, Riaz spoke about how he learnt guitar and how Reed’s YouTube videos inspired him.
Appreciating the 21-year-old’s grasp on percussive guitar, Reed called Riaz a “wonderful musician”.
Video rating: Two thumbs up for representing Pakistan on a global platform and nailing it like no other!

@Rehan: “Lol. Just what the world needs, ANOTHER musician!” —of course, the world need him and people like him with such great talents much, much more than all those who we call Taliban and their admirers and supporters and propagandists.Recommend
