Occupational hazard: Factory worker loses arm

He was working at a chipboard factory in Hattar Industrial Estate when his arm got stuck in a cutting machine.

HARIPUR: A factory worker lost his arm in an accident in Hattar on Monday, police and factory sources said. According to the Hattar police, Faisal, son of Abdul Aziz, was working at a chipboard factory in Hattar Industrial Estate when his arm got stuck in a cutting machine. The worker was taken to Ayub Medical Complex Abbottabad where doctors termed his condition serious due to excessive bleeding. Owing to lack of safety and health facilities, incidents of workers dying or getting injured due to occupational hazards are common in Hattar Industrial Estate.
