Reema’s valima held

HSY designed the dress, event managed by QYT.

Film actor Reema Khan’s valima was held at the Pearl Continental Hotel on Saturday night.

Though the event was supposed to start at 7:30 pm, the couple and the guests were more than an hour late.

Reema had married Dr Tariq Shahab, a cardiologist settled in Virginia, United States, in a court ceremony in November 2011. The wedding had been a small affair and she had said that there would be a big reception in Lahore. The actor had worn a green outfit designed by Hasan Shehryar Yasin (HSY) on her wedding.

Her valima dress was also designed by HSY.

The Saturday event was planned by Qasim Yar Tiwana, who said he had planned the event keeping in mind that it was for her family, friends and her in-laws.

“Reema had always told me that when she got married, she wanted me to plan. I am very excited to see Reema in a wedding dress,” said Tiwana. “When she came to me she said, “I am now getting married in Pakistan.”

When I asked how she wanted the event to be and the colour scheme she told me she entirely trusted me,” he said.

Ayesha Sana, the media coordinator, said that most of the artists had been unable to attend Khan’s American wedding because it had been a small affair.

She added that they were excited about being part of Reema’s big day.

“Everybody is so fond of Reema here. We all used to speculate who Reema would marry,” said Sana. “Tonight all of us get to be part of her celebration. [I am sure] everybody wishes her the best for her married life,” she said.

Several film and TV actors as well as politicians were invited.
