ishrat salim | 11 years ago | Reply We love our mothers - day in day out...we & our culture & religious duty do not need special day to remind us that...this for such societies where they need to remind themselves of such an " important personality in our lives - like MOTHER " who are instrumental in shaping our lives to stand on our 2 feet & brave the world....this is a Western gimmick to commercialise such events like " Fathers day, Mothers day etc; "- imagine the econimic & financial benefits which such uncalled events generate....from telecon, SMS, MMS to exchange of gifts etc;...is it worth the celebration where 80 % of our MOTHERS " live in the rural areas ? we love them & will continue to love them - the natural way....not thru such artificial ways. The people of the West hv made their lives so artificial due to their pre-occupation that they need to re-invent & remind themselves that they hv " Mother & Father " who also need attention..atleast once a year.In Pakistan...such events hv become fashion for the elite class...Allah swt & Quran reminds us the importance of such personalities everyday...unlike West who dump their parents in " OLD HOMES " only to remember them once a year...
