LAHORE: Nawankot police arrested a doctor on Friday after a Lahore High Court judge dismissed his bail petition in a rape case. SP (Investigation) Omar Bilal told Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik that the police had concluded that the man, Dr Imtiaz Ahmed, raped the dispenser at his clinic in Nawankot. He said the police had registered a case on the direction of the sessions court. The judge dismissed the bail petition and police arrested the doctor from outside the courtroom. The doctor had submitted in his petition that he was innocent and that his former employee was trying to blackmail him. He had said the police were helping the complainant.
