RAHIM YAR KHAN: The Sheikh Zayed Hospital Employees Welfare Association ended their boycott after the hospital administration set up a committee to probe the incident where a security guard was beaten up by some doctors on Sunday.  The boycott was called off after getting assurance from Dr Muhammad Adrees Anwer, the acting principal, that an inquiry will be conducted and the responsible will be punished according to the rules. A hospital spokesman said that the committee will be headed by Principal Dr Muhammad Saeed. According to the detail, some young doctors at the hospital allegedly beat up Nadeem Ahmed, a hospital guard, after he complained that his uncle had died at the hospital due to the doctors’ negligence. Young Doctors Association President Dr Shabir Warraich denied the allegation saying that Ahmed’s uncle was in a critical condition. He said the death was natural. The Employees Welfare Association has demanded Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif to take notice of the “high handedness” of the young doctors. They said their negligence had caused several deaths and no action had been taken against them.
