Cooperation: Turkish delegation meets IGP

Mustafa Ozguler and Mahmut Cengiz discussed the exchange programme for trainers.

Two Turkish Police officers on Tuesday met with the Inspector General of Punjab Police, Habibur Rahman. Mustafa Ozguler and Mahmut Cengiz discussed the exchange programme for trainers, a memorandum regarding which was signed between the Turkish National Police and Punjab Police in October 2011.

The delegation will also visit other police offices like the Counter Terrorism Department, the Police Training School in Chuhng, the Special Branch office, the Chief Traffic Officer’s Office, Elite Police Training School at Bedian Road and the CCPO office this week.

Agreements signed

Two agreements were signed on Monday between the Lahore Transport Company (LTC) and two Turkish companies.

The agreements were signed by LTC chairman Khwaja Ahmad Hasaan and representatives of the Al-Bayrak Group and Ozkartallar. Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif and Istanbul Mayor Kadir Topbas were also present on the occasion.

The chief minister said that the agreements would benefit both Pakistani and Turkish investors. He said that there were investment opportunities available in infrastructure, transport and energy sectors in the Punjab.

The Mayor of Instanbul, Kadir Topbas, said that the warm welcome extended to the Turkish delegation was proof of the love between the two nations.
