Earplug protest: Rashdi refuses to hear Marri speak

Published: March 8, 2012

KARACHI: The Marri-Rashdi war went one step further during Thursday’s Sindh Assembly session.

MPA Marvi Rashi plugged her ears with cotton as soon as Sindh Information Minister Shazia Marri started speaking at the session, reported Express News.

A war of words has been going on between the two women since the past three days in the Sindh Assembly.

The conflict began on Monday when these two women started shouting at each other on the issue of Balochistan and continued till Tuesday when Rashdi presented a resolution in the assembly pertaining to the mention of adoptive parents in the NICs of children.

The resolution irked Marri who resorted by passing personal remarks on the MPA creating a ruckus in the assembly.

Both are products of wadhera shahi. Impossible for them to hear or absorb another mortals views. These are the peoples representatives elected by forced voting. Shame.

I must say that this is a slightly better way to record your protest rather than starting a cat fight and making a scene..

LOL! This is better than reality TV. The natural progression in a society where, over the decades, the feudals have become more powerful and simultaneously less accountable. That said, if this were a contest, I would bet on Marvi Rashidi winning.

I suppose refusing to hear someone speak is akin to banning the BBC – pathetic.
