LAHORE:

A special court for banking offences on Thursday dismissed the interim bail of Khurram Rasool, a former media coordinator of the prime minister, for non-prosecution.

The man is allegedly involved in a multi-million-rupee LPG quota scam and bank fraud.

The counsel for the complainant contended before the court that Khurram Rasool cheated it by hiding the truth in his interim bail petition. He contended that he did not mention anywhere in his petition that he is an absconder in the NAB court where he was convicted.

The judge called for Rasool three times but no one appeared on his behalf.

Petitioner Khurram Rasool contended in his petition that the registration of the case against him was based on ulterior motives.
