Celebrations: Christmas services held at 250 churches

Two major gatherings were held at Cathedral on The Mall and Saint Anthony’s on Lawrence Road.

Christmas was celebrated with fervour and enthusiasm in the city on Sunday.


Christmas services were held at some 250 churches in the city, where priests, in their sermons, urged participants for complying with the teachings of the Holy Christ. They called for integrity, brotherhood and harmony. Special prayers for the progress and prosperity of the country were offered at all these churches.

Two major gatherings were held at Cathedral on The Mall and Saint Anthony’s on Lawrence Road. Special fairs were set up outside major churches, decorated especially for the day. Big hotels in the city also installed Christmas trees. District administration made special security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident. Police personnel were also deployed around churches.

Also on Sunday, Christan employees of Lahore Development Authority (LDA) celebrated Christmas in a cake cutting ceremony. A large number of Christian employees were given presents at the occasion.
