Illegal Actions: Eight including minister’s brother convicted

FAISALABAD:

Sheikh Nawaz Akram – brother of Federal Minister Sheikh Waqqas Akram Anti has been convicted – along with eight of his bodyguards on charges of resorting to firing, creating panic and terror in the area of Kotwali police station Jhang, by an Anti Terrorist Court.

According to the prosecution, Nawaz had a dispute with his cousin Sheikh Zafar Iqbal for running a transport stand. Over this issue, Nawaz’s party resorted to indiscriminate firing and injured Ali Raza of Iqbal’s party on August 18, 2010.
