On Universal Children Day: PM urges effective character building

PM Gilani added that the future of Pakistan rested on the children of the country.

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani urged media, parents, political parties as well as members of civil society to come forward and devote maximum resources for education and character building of children of Pakistan. In a message to the nation on the occasion of Universal Children Day falling on November 20, he said the observance of Universal Children Day around the world is an occasion to remind people of responsibilities towards children by evolving and implementing strategies to ensure their well being. He added that the future of Pakistan rested on the children of the country. Pakistan joins the world community in celebrating this day in accordance with the UN’s resolution passed by the General Assembly in 1954.
